The item you purchased is a Pro Battery Grip for the Canon 7D camera. It can hold 6 AA batteries or two LP-E6 li-ion batteries, doubling the battery capacity of your camera. Vertical shutter release button on the Battery Grip makes shooting with the camera in a vertical position much easier, adding stability to the camera. Beware that the batteries should be put into the magazine before inserting the magazine into the grip!
In this professional edition, it comes with several functional buttons as the flash above showing. It will be much convenient while using. It provides additional shutter release, main dial, AE lock and AF point selection controls for easier vertical shooting. Having the same function as Canon BG-E7!

I had already bought the 5D version of this from this company; and it was a great buy, as it balanced the camera in my hands perfectly.However, I am finding it more difficult to get used to the 7D version as the camera is heavier to start with and the additional weight of the battery pack is not quite so easy for me. I use my 70-200 lens a lot and that's a heavy lens, so I'm currently getting camera shake. But, I will persevere as I know once I am used to it I shall be really glad I did - it's such a sensible way to ensure battery power throughout a long day's shoot.

My order arrived after a few days in Switzerland. There came a manual with the grip in different languages. Even in German!The grip fits perfectly. The build quality ist perfect! Highly recommended!
