As of the date of this review, this is the best, brightest flashlight sold by LinkDelight, in my opinion, and an excellent value. It has a very solid, quality feel and the materials and construction appear to be top-notch. The switch operation feels good. The bigger-diameter handle (to allow 26650 batteries) and compact head fits my hand well and gives it good balance.
I have not had the chance to compare this against a HID light, but the amount of light it puts out is mind-boggling! I compared it to my car's headlights (the brightest lights available for a 1998 Toyota Camry.) The car lights were slightly brighter in one tightly focused area, but the flashlight lit up a much larger area, gave much more light overall, and the light was much whiter.
I also compared it to a Thor-X 10,000,000 candlepower lantern that's at least 10 times as bulky. The Thor-X also was more focused and brighter in the focus area (brighter than my car headlights), but the TrustFire lit a much larger area and gave more light overall.
The only cons I've found is that the head gets pretty warm after extended use, and while screwing and unscrewing the handle several times, one of the O-rings got cut in two.
This light a great value, and LinkDelight has been good to deal with. When I got a couple of defective items in a large order, they gave me coupons worth almost twice the cost of the items, good toward my next order.
