This flash is really useful if you make macrophotography with extension tubes, beacuse it helps to keep fast shutter speed even you have a loss of light due to the increase of the distance between the lens and the camera sensor. it is easy to use, light weight, and really cheap, (i've bought it this chrismas so i've payed only 20$!!). does not works on ttl only in manual mode.

I received this yestereday, so I have not had a ton of time to play with it yet. It works, simple as that. If you are thinking you are getting a ring flash to do fashion and model type work, think again. It's for macro work. I don't think it syncs at higher shutter speeds, but seems to work well at longer speeds (maybe 1/60th and longer); so a tri-pod will be helpful, but that is the case in macro work anyway. No E-TTL of course, so shoot in manual and make adjustments as you go! Good deal for the money.

Hi All,This flash unit is good for macro photography. However, you may have to experiment a lot to obtain the correct exposure as when I tried capturing macro shots with ISO 100 on my Canon 1000D/XS the pictures were under exposed (along with flash) however it got resolved after I set the ISO to 400 (I experimented in a dark environment to see the effectiveness). Also, if you are using ISO 100 try to use the continuous lighting + low shutter speed/large aperture to obtain the correct lighting conditions.Again, it depends on when we are using the flash as in macro we will be very close to the subject. I believe this will help in outdoor shootings where the lens would be right over the subject avoiding the natural light/built in flash to reach (in my case I'm using a macro tube so the built-in flash is not that effective as I see shadows when the flash fires). My overall experience has been good with LinkDelight and I will surely recommend this product to my fellow photographers :)Cheers to photography & LinkDelight team!!Prabhath MP

Works well with my EOS 500D.Battery cover is very thin so it could break easily. The flash and the continuos light adjustable is easy and so effective. Good price - good product!

I've bought for my Canon 550D and I think is very useful and easy to use. But it has a BIG problem with a buzz so it is impossible to use when you are shooting video (inclouding sound)

The build quality is low but I bought this as a little bit of extra kit for macro photography only. The options are perfect for what I was looking for. The flash shoe connection feels a little weak. The power is a little low. But the ability to use in flash mode is great for shooting insects. This is not professional quality gear but it is great for intermittent use. For the price you can't go wrong...

nice addition to my equipment bag. It is only suited for very close up macro shots, and even then it is still under powered. I made some test shots, but I still needed a tripod (advised for macro shots anyway). But it does light the subject equally all over, so you don't need lights and reflectors all around (maybe only if you also want a light from the back). My camera (canon 450d) does not recognize the flash very good. It does trigger the flash, but it doesn't get any information about the strength, so unless you use the camera in manual mode, all pictures are overexposed. But you can also set the flash to give continuous light. If you use that, the camera will adjust lighting accordingly, and it also helps you with framing your subjects. And because it uses LED, the batteries will last long.Build quality could be better, but not for this price. Looking at the price, build quality is good. Also, it is not very heavy. With this review, a sample picture I made with:Canon 450D, 50mm 1.8, 20mm extension tube, F22 ISO800, 1/30secin short:good things:equal light all over your subjectContinues light modevery low pricebad things:not powerful, only strong enough for close up macro
