Solidly built. I didn't buy this for macro use, but rather as a way of shifting the camera on a tripod so that it rotates around the nodal point of the lens to prevent parallax errors in panoramic photography. The markers on the scale enable the position to be noted and remembered for future use.

A very well built macro slider. In addition, it can be used for horizontal panoramics. It's not difficult to set the nodal point for your specific camera/lens combination. There are no instructions on setting the nodal point, but there are lots of Internet resources. I think that the free shipping makes this a no-brainer choice. I've used LinkDelight for over a year, with 100% success. Highly recommended.

I like to do macro photography, and this makes the job much easier. No tripod head I have ever owned lets me make minute adjustments in centering the subject like this macro focusing rail.
