The most current model mentioned on various websites with spike/rubber feet, strengthened connections from post to ballhead (reinforced black rubberized top plate with hex cavity that accepts a steel nut), and orange center column protective rings. Extremely well made and together with the B-2 ballhead very fairly priced.

Good one.. Mine reached NJ, US in 4 days flat.
Pro - Nice price, Good height, Lightweight & folds to 1.5ft. Great advantage for carrying around & travellers. Easily fits in your travel bag. The carry bag that came with the tripod is really good quality & nice. The tripod looks very professional too.

Con - No spirit level/bubble level. This is must for any tripod & even basic tripods provide it. However this one does not have one. Also, I am not a big fan of twist lock legs. I would have preferred a flip-lock, but that's just my preference.

this tripod is amazing. light weight which is great for when your shooting in the bush. the monopod detachment is also really useful. used it while shooting on a fishing boat on rough waters where space was limited. the ball head is compact and functions great. the tenstion control feature is a great bonus.

I would have given this 5 stars, but the build quality is not there yet.
A superb price, though, and for most applications, this is a fantastic tripod.
I use large format as well as digital and medium format; I travel a lot, so a tripod has to be small, light and rigid.
This is all three, except that it suffers at the limits of its maximum load.
My camera, film back and lens weigh about 6kg (13 lbs), and with that weight on the tripod, the lowest leg extensions cause some wobble, especially if it's windy and the weight is not well-centered.
For digital and MF, it's an unbeatable tripod, especially at that price.
If they can toughen up the lower leg extensions, this would be a world-class piece of equipment.

I was looking to upgrade my tripod and found this nicely priced tripod/head combination. I do have a bit of a budget so price does make a difference to me. Yet I also want decent quality. What little assembly required was very easy and went smoothly. My initial use of it was just a Pentax K7 body and small zoom. Adjusted easily and did not move. Later I used a 70-210 zoom lens, about 3 lbs by itself. I found it a little bit tricky trying to "fine tune" the angle, and felt I had to tighten the knobs a bit more to prevent slippage from shot to shot. However, just being aware that it might do so a bit, and remembering to check it before each shot was just a minor "procedural" issue and did not diminish the value of the tripod in my eyes.

For the budget conscious buyer, I would recommend serious consideration of this package. If you are going to be using a lens with a tripod mount, consider purchasing an extra base at the time you purchase the tripod.

It is my first carbon fiber tripod, and I have not used ball head before, so I cannot compare it to similar products. I did a couple hikes in rainforest, and the thing worked well for me (even helped me to cross the creek :)). When expanded it is bigger than expected even without central column (and I am tall person). It is light compared to metal tripod and compact for its size. The ball head works just fine and fixes the camera quite well. I also bought spare plate, and now have plates attached both to camera and tele lens. It is big improvement over another tripod I have. I would not mind to buy it again but I may opt for a smaller version because I don't have big lenses (the heaviest weigth of camera and lens is just about 2 kilos).
The shipment to Australia was pretty fast.

I've found this to be the perfect tripod to travel with. It's ultra-light weight, holds plenty of gear/lenses and is super sturdy. In fact, I've actually started using this when I'm shooting locally since it's just so easy to take with me and there's nothing I'm giving up when using it.
